The Caribbean Microfinance Network (CMN) is an innovation of the MIF Microfinance Network of the Partners In Innovation Program (“MIF Microfinance Network”) whose members agreed to the concept of the CMN (“Red Caribe”) at its meeting on October 4th 2005 in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
CMN takes into consideration the specific situation and special needs of MFI’s in the Caribbean who operate within island economies with relatively smaller populations than their Latin American counterparts. CMN is governed by a Charter and there is an appointed Secretariat which coordinates the activities of the CMN.
English, French, Dutch and Spanish speaking MFIs in the Caribbean who meet the membership criteria presented in the Charter are eligible to be members.
